The instigator and creator of Pyrgos Petreza, Giorgos Belbas, coming from a third generation viticulturist family, had winemaking in his heart and nurtured a special taste for good wine. He managed to transfigure this love into Pyrgos Petreza, utilizing the estate as a vineyard and creating high standard winemaking facilities. This is the reason why wine remains for us a personal affair. An affair and a small scale production, which we share with select friends and visitors –but we do not distribute massively in the market.
Our vineyards, just a few minutes’ drive from Pyrgos Petreza, have the full care and attention from our specialist team, in order to produce juices full of aroma and taste. The first vineyard, planted with the replanting of 2002, our malagousia, is still situated inside the Pyrgos, symbolizing our present, rooted firmly in our history. Our facilities and procedures ensure the right vinification and maturation, while our bottles, after consumption, are recycled, as early as 2012.
For all the people in the team of Pyrgos Petreza, the wine experts, the viticulturists and our chef, wine holds a special importance, it has soul and meaning. It is our history in a bottle, especially for your events. And in this way it becomes part of your own history.
